ECF held an English Conversational Program in its Monterey Park’s office. Ms. Connie Kwa, a retired teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience from the Alhambra School District, is the master teacher of the program. The program meets every Monday from 10am to 12pm for a total of 10 weeks.

ECF held a Health Fair / Seminar with former mayor and current council member, Peter Chan, to officiate the opening. Dr. Hu and Dr. Sun came to provide free medical advise and checkup to over 25 local residents in the surrounding communities. Praise the Lord for the program’s success.

President Chan visited Rev. & Mrs. Too of Thailand Bethel Theological Institute and, with ECF board approval, agreed to donate US$20,000 for the purchase of a pick-up truck for the Institute’s ministry related activities. President Chan visited Rev. Ma of Chiangkong Christian Education Center to explore the possibility of joint mission program with ECF in the future. Please pray for such partnership arrangement.

ECF held a 6-week Summer English Program in its Monterey Park’s office to benefit the local residents. Approximately 10 people completed the program with certificates issued on the program’s last day on July 31, 2019. Thank you Master Teacher Yuting Feng for her hard work and effort.

ECF board and staff shared with the Lane family the celebration of Dr. Harold Lane’s 90th birthday. Dr. Lane contributed significantly to ECF’s global and local ministry as mentor, board member, as well as Chairman of International Council for 23 years. May God bless him with good health in his years of retirement.

The ECF International Chapel was re-opened at the ECF International Headquarters in Monterey Park, California. The Ministry theme chosen for 2019 is “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” (James 4:8)

The ECF International Annual Board of Directors meeting was held in Monterey Park, California. Together, they shared God’s blessings and praised Him for the wonderful things He has done! For 2019, the Board has adopted the theme: God’s Abundant Blessing with Peace and Healing based on Isaiah 53:5.

President Chan made a brief 2-day visit to Goa, India with Mr. Stevens Dumpala, ECF Affiliate, as his guide. There, he witnessed first hand the conditions at the slum districts and the ministry that Stevens and his church members provide to the children of the impoverished area. Pres. Chan also joined the Youth Fellowship on Saturday and delivered the message during Sunday worship at The Bible Church, where Stevens is the Head Pastor.

While President Chan was in Hong Kong during the first 2 weeks of the new year, he had the opportunity to visit Macau where he worshipped at the Grace Community Chapel and was warmly welcomed by the Pastoral Staff, Macau Orphanage Board Members and Staff.
