We Invite You to Have a Part in This Project
- Donating a Medical Mobile -
Helping the needy with God’s love has always been the high vision of the ECF Global ministry. Today, God has opened a new door in China for helping the elderly. The Home for Senior Citizens in Hangzhou is the first one in China being organized, built and operated by Christians with the support from Hangzhou Christian Council. This newly built Home will house about 150 with a modern clinic; plus a chapel to accommodate up to 1,000 with 20 wheel chairs in the front for public worship. Friends of ECF donated 200 pews for the chapel. Two years ago, medical doctors from America joined with Christian Physicians from the Chongyi Church in Hangzhou in providing free medical services to the needy in nearby villages. A strong partnership has been built among Christian physicians.

In order to expand this kind of service of love, ECF is encouraging more Christian doctors to join this exciting team to provide greater medical services in these coming months. It is our hope that a medical mobile can be presented to this Home on October 18, 2011 at the Dedication Service. With this additional tool, a more practical and urgently needed service can be carried out to benefit not only the 150 residents but also those in the community and in the neighboring towns and villages. The total cost of this medical mobile is $80,000.

We invite you to have a part in this meaningful project of love. Memorial gifts are most welcome and appropriate for this project. If you have the time, we also invite you to join our team to attend the October 18 Dedication as a witness of this historic event in Hangzhou, China. Together with multitude of Chinese believers, we will sing praises to our Heavenly Father who cares for the seniors in China.

If you want to have a part in this hisrtoric love gift, please contact Dr. Paul Szeto

By Dr. Paul Szeto
The month of June was truly a time of rich blessing and life transformation from the Lord. Dorcas and I enjoyed our ministries in five cities:

Macau -- Sharing a message on the Father's Day Sunday worship in Macau was truly a motivating event. Some of the children in our orphanage do not have their physical fathers. But, through Jesus, they found love and comfort in their Heavenly Father.

Nanjing -- Dorcas was invited to conduct a week-long Training Conference for about 40 theological librarians coming from 21 Theological Seminaries and Bible Schools across China. Two representatives from China Christian Council in Shanghai came to encourage this committed group of God’s servants. It was a successful conference.

I was invited to preach at the Monday Morning Chapel. Sharing my personal story in ministry and missions for the last 30 years impacted a few among the 350 who came and generated a deep connection in personal conversation with many. New visions and ideas coming from this young and dedicated generation truly encouraged me to march on with great faith in the Lord.

Kaiping -- I met with the principal of Jiaolun High School in Kaiping, my birth place. We worked out all the details for the up-coming English Teachers Training Program with 5 experts coming from America. I am so thankful to God for the financial commitments of Mr. Wing-chi Ng and Mr. Lawrence Szeto for the 10 days support of room and board for all five experts. May God bless them for their love and sacrifice.

Hangzhou -- The Pure Thought Church in Hangzhou is a growing church. Every Sunday, more than 5,000 come to the three services. I was invited to preach at the 8:30am service with about 2,500 worshippers. Rev. Joseph Gu, Chairman of the Hangzhou Christian Council, led us to see the Church of the Rock, a new building now under construction. (see photo above). When the new church is completed, 3,000 can come to worship in the north side of Hangzhou. Dorcas and I also shared our testimonies and experiences with the staff and volunteers of YWCA of Hangzhou. ECF has been in partnership with YWCA for the last 9 years for leadership training and English teaching.

Hong Kong -- Our last stop was Hong Kong. We met with members of the Foundation for the development of greater outreach ministry in Asia. We are most grateful for the vision and leadership of Mr. Stephen Leung, Rev. Eddie Chan and Mr. Ching-kong Mou. Their partnership motivated all our ECF staff both in Macau and here in Monterey Park.

Dedication of the Dr. J. Edwin Orr Revival Center

Dr. J. Edwin Orr was a great servant of God. Billy Graham wrote in 1951, "Dr. J. Edwin Orr, in my opinion, is one of the greatest authorities on history of religious revivals in the Protestant world ...... I know of no man who has a greater passion for worldwide revival or a greater love for the souls of men." All of us related to the ECF Global ministry remember Dr. Orr as a gifted evangelist who traveled more than 150 of the world's 160 countries. He was also a prolific author who wrote about 40 books. His many years of teaching at Fuller Theological Seminary motivated many pastors, missionaries and denominational leaders. In 1980, Dr. Orr, serving as the Chairman of ECF Inc. welcomed Dr. Paul Szeto to be the new General Director of ECF. Dr. Orr returned to his home in heaven in 1987 after 75 years of faithful service in God's Kingdom.

After some discussions and serious prayers, the Board of ECF and the Orr family decided to establish the Dr. J. Edwin Orr Revival Center for the promotion of Personal Renewal, Congregational Transformation and Global Revival. The Formal Dedication of this Center took place on June 12, 2011, Pentecost Sunday, at the ECF International Headquarters, Monterey Park, California. Dr. Harold Lane, ECF Chair, welcomed all honored guests. The solo "The Holy City" sung by Dr. Nathan Yeh was most inspiring.

Dr. Paul Szeto shared the history and ministry of this new Center. Dr. Doug McConnell, new provost of Fuller Theological Seminary, delivered the message on Historic World Revival. Dr. Sam Chetti, Executive Minister, American Baptist Churches of LA, gave his personal witness of Dr. Orr's ministry over the years and pronounced the benediction.

The most moving and meaningful act in this historic Dedication was the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony led by Mrs. Carol Orr with three generations of the Orr family. Dr. Mark Stanton, new provost of Azusa Pacific University, shared his thoughts on Global Revival and offered the Prayer of Dedication

At the Fellowship Dinner that followed, Prof. Anthony Chan led the entire party in a prayer of Thanksgiving, giving God the glory and honor. Mr. David Orr shared from his heart about the impacts that his father had made not only on the global ministry but also on the family life. Rev. David Guzik, pastor of Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara shared his exciting ministry with Dr. Orr's books, DVDs and other resources he compiled over the years. Today, revival is happening all over the world, especially in China.

MACAU
Special programs helping the children grow
Thanks to the Four Season Hotel in Macau, the computer center was able to add four new computers for the training classes. On May 28, the Orphanage held a computer training class at the center. The children were divided into four groups and had a fun day of a "Chinese Input Typing" contest. The computer center is a good place for these children to be able to learn more about the computer skills.

After finishing the "Listening to the New Testament in 40 days" program, the children are going to participate in the "Reading the Bible" program. Everyone will pick a book from the Bible and study it in detail within one year. The Orphanage will provide the materials for them to study. Praise God for the children who are so eager to learn God's word.

USA
Out reach program for the community
On June 11, ECF International Chapel successfully held a mission outreach to the local community with a medical seminar and free service at the Headquarters. Over 80 people attended the seminar which was conducted by Dr. Li-Qin Sun. After the seminar, Dr. Sun also provided free services to about 50 people.

Sunday worship on Father's Day was a memorable one with Dr. Samuel Lo, ECF Director, who preached on "The Greatest of Jesus Christ". Mr. John Qu read a letter of testimony from Mrs. Shujing Chan who had just gone through a successful marrow transplant operation.

THAILAND
Good Harvest from Mission Trip"
Mr. K.Y. Too, Principal of the Bethel Bible Institute in Thailand, gave a good report on his mission trip to the rural area of Myanmar during the summer. Over 150 youth came to the conference, and about 20 people decided to dedicate themselves to serve the Lord full time. Some 30 people were baptized on Easter Sunday and around 300 people came from 50 worship points in the nearby mountain villages.

The new school year started on May 17. This year, a total of 32 new students registered, 22 in the Chinese department and 10 in the Thai department. Please keep praying for the Institute, especially for the completion of the new building project.

PHILIPPINES
New School Year Started
Through the Education Program of the ECF Sponsorship Ministry, school supplies were distributed to the recipients for the new school year which commenced last June. The children and their families send their warm thanks to all ECF sponsors for this assistance.

CAMBODIA
English and Computer Training Continues
The Center is concurrently teaching classes in English and Computer. Training in both areas has helped many students in the community. Also, the teachers and students are able to share the Gospel with those that attend the classes. Please continue praying for this growing ministry.

INDIA
Vacation Bible School Held
The children enjoyed a one week Bible training program during Vacation Bible School. They learned bible songs and stories and did arts and crafts.
